About the Organization : Light of Life Trust, a non-governmental organization established in 2002 and registered under Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950 is founded by Villy Doctor, with a vision to transform the lives of underprivileged rural communities.
I. Project Anando – Education:
Initiated in 2005 with 25 students of Karjat, Project Anando aims to support underprivileged rural
children to complete their secondary education, as well as focusing on their all-round development.
Over the years it has impacted 19311 children and 1204 teachers directly and 192956 community
members indirectly in the states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan & Odisha through its
programmes – Anando, Anando Plus, Anando School Empowerment Programme & Anant.
II. Project Jagruti – Community Development:
Initiated in 2010 at Tiware, Karjat Taluka, it supports the holistic development of underprivileged rural
communities and has reached out to more than 205373 beneficiaries and their families through three
major programmes across 08 centres operating across Raigad, Thane, Nandurbar, Akola & Mumbai
District in Maharashtra State & Sikar District in Rajasthan State.
II a. Livelihood & Skill Development Programme:
Operational since 2010 this programme provides skill-based training to underprivileged women and
youth to equip them to attain financial independence. 13098 people have directly benefitted through
these trainings and interventions.
II b. Medical Mobile Unit:
These MMUs are in operation since 2013 and reach out to remote areas without adequate health care
facilities. It has reached out to 83919 people across Raigad, Thane, Nandurbar & Pune Districts.
III c. Environment Conservation Programme:
Initiated in 2015 the programme supports poor farmers in generating additional income by providing
them with fruit bearing saplings. So far 6208 farmers from 152 villages have been benefitted.
Light of Life Trust has reached out to 3,98,329 beneficiaries since its inception across the states of
Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh & Odisha.
